Dairy products are a principal source of calcium in our diet. They include milk and its derivatives, (yoghurt, cheese, curd, etc.).
One serving of milk or a dairy product provides the same quantity of calcium, but not the same calories, fat, or protein. A serving of fresh cheese provides 80-100 g of calcium and 60 g of protein.
It is preferable to choose skimmed milk or a low fat derivative dairy product.
The fresher a cheese is, the less fat it contains. On the other hand, the more mature a cheese is, the lower its water content and the higher its content of fat and calories.
